REPORT TO: Executive housekeeper or in absence to room division manager of resident manager
SUPERVISES: All laundry and uniform employees
JOB SUMMARY – GENERAL SCOPE AND PURPOSE
Responsible for the proper handling of room and F&B linen, guest laundry and staff uniforms .To be cost conscious and to minimize usage of chemical and energy. To make any special effort to increase outside laundry revenue Uniforms to be always in tiptop conditions and to strive for highest achievement of efficiency and guest satisfaction
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
DUTIES
Plans and organizes all works and training programmers / schedules of the Laundry Section
Ensures proper handling and maintenance of all machineries and equipment with the assistance of the Hotel’ Engineering Department
Controls daily reports, stock of chemical and other laundry supplies
Makes recommendation to the Executive Housekeeper on what chemicals best to be used, in terms of quality and cost
Periodical price list checking and comparison with other international hotels
Assists Housekeeping to test new material
Coordinates and communicates with on Departments to ensure proper control and correct handling of linen and uniforms
Prepares monthly report and annual budget and submit same to Executive Housekeeper
Ensures strict observance of hygiene, security and safety standards
Assists Housekeeping in line and uniform inventory
Assists and coordinates with Duty Manager in handling guest complaints and lost- found or damaged items
Ensures that any effort is made to increase revenue from local business
Work closely with F&B Department as to their daily needs and projection
Performs any other duties when assigned by Executive Housekeeping
Laundry Manager has to be thoroughly familiar with the Hotel’s Policy & Procedure, ”Knowing Your Product” booklet, Fire & Emergency Manual as well as Employee’s Handbook(House Rules)

Daily staff briefing regarding activities in the Hotel, Guest complaints, etc
All staff in proper uniforms with the business and to have enough staff on duty
To teach staff correct manners and guest approach as well as basic English
Part time staff and trainees to wear uniforms

Guest suggestions have to be listened to and brought to the General Manager’s attention
